AI automates workflows and summarizes tasks, but does NOT write content—use Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for that. AI Teammates now available as a self-serve add-on (free 14-day trial) on all paid plans, no longer requiring sales contact to start. Free Personal tier remains limited to 2 users (legacy accounts created before Nov 2025 retain up to 10 users). Asana Gov achieved full FedRAMP Moderate Authorization in June 2026. Excellent for managing grants, events, campaigns, and cross-functional work.

Describe what you want in natural language, AI Studio builds the workflow. Credit allocations are now explicitly published per tier: Starter 50,000/month, Advanced 75,000/month, Enterprise and Enterprise+ 200,000/month per billing account. Additional AI Studio Plus (100,000 credits/month, ~$135/account/month annual) and AI Studio Pro (5 million credits/quarter) available as paid upgrades.
Launched March 17, 2026 as a sales-only add-on to Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ plans. As of the Spring 2026 release (~May 2026), existing customers can self-serve sign up and start a free 14-day trial without contacting sales. Gallery has grown to approximately 30 specialized AI agents (from 21 at launch) including Campaign Brief Writer, Launch Planner, Compliance Specialist, and more.
Individual users cannot disable AI features. Admins and super admins must enable/disable via Admin Console. The December 2025 Privacy Statement update confirms Asana uses domain metadata to train its own AI models when AI features are enabled — admins can disable this via Admin Console. Unchanged as of July 2026.
Third-party LLM providers (AI Partners) are contractually prohibited from training on customer data. Data is deleted after each AI interaction. However, Asana's own AI uses domain-level metadata (not user-generated content) for model training when Asana AI features are enabled.
